The Gardens
Beauty and nourishment for all

The Gardens

Our volunteer team, led by master gardener Art Shults, tends the flower gardens at St. Mary's and grows nearly 1,000 pounds of seasonal organic produce for The Market at St. Mary's. All produce is grown from seeds at St. Mary's, then planted and harvested at our plots in the UF/IFAS Duval County Urban Gardens (about ten minutes from our campus).

At St. Mary's, a Quiet Garden is currently in development -- a therapeutic green space which will contribute to the wellbeing of those we serve. This will be a place to restore mental, emotional and spiritual health in a naturalized woodland setting for relaxation and sensory engagement, embracing stillness and silence.

When complete, the Quiet Garden will welcome market shoppers and volunteers, parishioners, students, youth groups, and scouts as well as retreatants for quiet garden days and tours. We look forward to welcoming neighbors and the wider community during designated garden hours.

St. Mary's Quiet Garden will be a place where all are welcome to experience improved wellbeing and a renewed spirit in the midst of a busy and sometimes chaotic world.
