Joyfully feeding the hungry

St. Mary's Episcopal Church Food Pantry Ministry

Each aspect of our work at St. Mary’s is about building relationships.  Our food pantry ministry provides space for an active and loving presence, touching individuals and families who, for whatever reason, find themselves without enough food to eat. The Food Pantry serves as many as 1,000 individuals and families each month with dry and canned goods, fresh bread, meat and produce.

There are many different jobs to do, including bagging bread and baked goods, picking up donated food from vendors, data entry, cleaning, packing, unloading food into the pantry and assisting clients. Volunteers come from St. Mary's and its surrounding neighborhood, other churches, the military, schools and individuals who want to be a part of forming community in a relevant and meaningful way. Help is always needed.

We are actively exploring expanding our food program to include additional service times as well as an organic vegetable market for our neighbors. We will be integrating this program with other community-building efforts, including a shared meal with our neighbors.  STAY TUNED FOR UPDATES!

Current pantry hours of operation: 3:00 p.m. on Tuesdays and 9:00 a.m. on Thursdays.
(Some volunteer opportunities can be accomplished at other times.)
